KORAKKATTUR is small village which is located at Gobichettipalayam taluk, Erode district. Korakkattur is also called Korakkattupudur. This place comes under two panchayats which are Vellankovil and Kadukkampalayam. The MLA constituency is also separated with part of Korakkattur village coming under Gobichettipalayam and a few areas covered by Anthiyur constituency.

There is local famous temple called Kariya Kalli Amman kovil and Lord Shiva, Vishnu, Hanuman temple. The Festival usually conducted in March or February.

There is also a Mariamman Temple located at this village, festival conducted in the month of May for seven festive days. Korakkattur village is mainly dependent on Agricultural works, such as Sugar cane, Turmeric, rice, etc., The main water source is the LBP canal.
