Konstantinos Spanoudis

Konstantinos Spanoudis (Greek: Κωνσταντίνος Σπανούδης, 1871-1941) was a Greek politician of the Liberal Party (Greece), journalist and the first president of A.E.K. (sports club).

Life

He was born in 1871 in Fanari, Constantinople (modern Istanbul). He studied Political science in Paris.

He joined the Liberal Party and became close associate of PM Eleftherios Venizelos during the military operations of Greece in Balkan wars and World War I.

After the Asia Minor Catastrophe he was established in Athens. In 1924 with other Constantinopolitans they founded A.E.K. (sports club) and Spanoudis became the first President of the new club. In 1932 he was elected MP with the Liberal party.

He died in 1941 in Athens.
