Konstantinos Papazoglou (alternate spellings: Kostas Papazoglou) (Greek: Κωνσταντίνος or Κώστας, Παπάζογλου, born March 18, 1984) is a Greek professional basketball coach. He graduated from Aristotelian University’s Faculty of Physical Education and Sport Sciences in 2005, majoring in basketball coaching.
Coaching career
Papazoglou started his coaching career at a very young age. At just 22 years old, he was a part of the coaching staff of Makedonikos B.C. in Greece’s A1 league, being the youngest assistant coach in the history of the Greek League.
Later during that season, Papazoglou followed Flevarakis in Poland and worked alongside him as an assistant coach at Polpak Swiecie, earning a spot in the Polish league playoffs.
The collaboration with Flevarakis continued in the summer of 2007, as Papazoglou worked as head scout for the Sweden N.T. for two consecutive years.
In late 2007, Papazoglou followed Flevarakis as an assistant coach at PAOK, where he stayed until the end of April 2008.
In the summer of 2008, Papazoglou started working as Flevarakis’ assistant at AEK, staying with the club until 2010.
For the next two seasons, the two men worked together at Ilisiakos, helping the team avoid relegation both years.
In 2012, Papazoglou worked for the first time in his career in Germany’s Basketball Bundesliga league, as he was appointed assistant coach of New Yorker Phantoms Braunschweig. He stayed there for a year, until the summer of 2013. He also worked with German point guard Dennis Schroeder, in his last year in Europe before going to the NBA and joining the Atlanta Hawks.
Since the summer of 2013 he has been an assistant coach with Aries Trikala BC. In April 2015 he took over the reins of the team, finishing the season as head coach and, at the age of 31, became the third youngest head coach in the history of Greek League, and the absolute youngest since the 1999-2000 season.
