Kommunizm are a Russian conceptual art collective from Omsk. The band was formed in 1988 and broke up in 1990. Initially a studio-only project, in 2010 they re-united to play live. Kommunizm was founded as side-project of cult Siberian band Grazhdanskaya Oborona by Yegor Letov, Oleg Sudakov (who also functioned as the band's manager), and Konstantin Ryabinov.

The band was very prolific - they released ten albums throughout 1989. A lot of these albums were never reissued, however some were reissued in 2003 on the XOP label, while in 2007 some were remastered and reissued with bonus tracks by Misteria Zvuka. Two albums were reissued on vinyl with bonus tracks in 2011 by Neuro Empire's Stanzmarke imprint. Letov and his wife Natalia Chumakova had privately remastered the entire discography in 2005.

Between 2013 and 2016, Wyrgorod carried out a reissue campaign of Kommunizm's entire discography, based on the 2005 remasters.
