Komakkambedu is a village located 9 miles north of Thiruninravur. Most of the village is occupied by Vanniyar and Naidu caste. This village is right now facing brain drain. Most of the youngsters have either relocated to the cities or outside India. Farming is occupation for most of the villagers. Though a rural village, it contains some of the most educated bright minds of the state. Many of them are in the US.More than twenty Self Help Groups(SHG) are formed for the welfare and development of women.

There are four beautiful temples in the village namely Mariamman temple, Permal temple, Pillayar temple and Chelliamman temple. Their will be a grand Cranival function at Mariamman temple for every five year once. A part of village is named as Indira Nagar which consist of two streets and temples namely Pillayar temple and Om Sakthi temple.
