Knock Knock is an American book and gift publishing company founded by Jen Bilik on January 1, 2002. The company is based in Venice, California. Encouraged by friends, Bilik, previously a book editor, launched Knock Knock in 2002 with the proceeds from the sale of her Manhattan apartment.

Contents

Knock Knock’s initial product launch consisted of 13 items, including the Personal Library Kit, a product that remains in Knock Knock’s catalog today. Annually, the Knock Knock in-house team creates nearly 300 products, including its line of bestselling notepads, sticky notes, Fill in the Love® Journals, Inner-Truth™ Journals, and humorous nonfiction gift books. Knock Knock's tagline is "Say something more®".

Products and Publications

Knock Knock’s mission is to “bring humor, creativity, and smarts to everyday life.” Their products and books are known for their irreverence, whimsy, and wit, and according to the New York Times, balance “novelty with utility." According to the Wall Street Journal, “A key to Knock Knock’s success is that there are real uses for the products.”

Among its hundreds of paper products, one of Knock Knock’s bestsellers is the All Out Of grocery list pad which has sold over 1.3 million units worldwide.

In 2007, Knock Knock began publishing humorous nonfiction including the bestselling title How to Traumatize Your Children: 7 Proven Methods to Help You Screw Up Your Kids Deliberately and with Skill. In addition to developing projects in-house, they collaborate with outside authors, bloggers, and other creatives to publish under the Knock Knock name.

In 2012, Knock Knock introduced the What I Love about You Fill in the Love® Journal—first in a series of bestselling fill-in-the-blank gift journals which have sold collectively over 2.4 million copies worldwide.

Knock Knock stuff is sold in retailers across the United States and internationally, as well as online. They do not operate a retail brick-and-mortar store.
