Kiteboating or kite boating is the act of using a kite as a power source to propel a boat (Motorboat or sailboat). The activity occurs in lakes and in open seas. Records of ocean crossing have been made. Placing turbines in the boat's hull lets the kite power generate electricity on board.

Kiteboarding is a type of surface water sport, which includes the activities such as snowboarding, windsurfing, skateboarding, gymnastics etc. Going back to 1800s, George Pocock used the kites in order to increase the size of propel carts that are found in land and carts. So this is a brief history how the kiteboarding concept came into existence.

Sébastien Cattelan is the French kitesurfer was the first sailor who was able to break 50 knots meeting the target of 50.26 knots. On 3 October 2008, he reached his target at the Lüderitz Speed Challenge in Namibia. Next, on 14th November 2009, Alex Caizergues reached the target of 50.98 knots in Nambia.

Kiteboarding uses different types of gears. Also used gears are used ensuring that it functions well in your way.
