Khatumal Jeewan was a scheduled caste Hindu Senator of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP).
Dr. Khatumal Jeewan is son of a poor farmer from Janhero district Umerkot, got to become a doctor of Medicine from Dow Medical College now university in Karachi & soon was elected on Sindh Assembly on PPP ticket.
Since then, he contested three elections for National Assembly of Pakistan and became MNA. He remained part of every government since 1998 including Nawaz Sharif and PPP governments.
He was nominated as candidate for reserved seat of minorities given 5th priority, even though he represents the biggest sect of Hindu community of Meghwar in Pakistan. Later, before becoming senator, he was appointed adviser to Sindh chief minister for mineral development.
