Kett's Oak

Kett's Oak near Wymondham in Norfolk, England is one of the 50 Great British Trees.

The oak tree is named after Robert and William Kett who assembled a group of men at the tree in 1549 in what was to become Kett's Rebellion. Their grievances concerned the enclosing of the common lands and the rising cost of living. The rebellion failed and Robert and William Kett were hanged.
