Kenneth Wayne Jewett was an American author who resides in Virginia. Jewett was a retired Air Force Colonel and used his military and historical knowledge in his writings. Jewett died from cancer on September 9, 2012.
Works
Jewett began writing To the Valley, his first published novel, in April 2007 when he retired from the Air Force. To the Valley tells the tale of the Jewett family journey in the 1750s from Boston to the Virginia frontier, where they eventually settled. The Jewett family encounters dangers and struggles along the way as they and other pioneers carve a life for themselves. The book’s characters are based on Jewett’s actual family and are intertwined with some family history. Historical figures such as George Washington and Daniel Boone make an appearance alongside Robert Jewett and his family.
To the Valley is part one in a series by Jewett. The second book, Defend the Valley, is in production. Jewett is also working on a third book. Jewett’s books are published by Ithaca Press.
