Kathy Phillips Taper (née Parker) is a fictional character on the now-cancelled soap opera, Search for Tomorrow. She was played by actress and writer Courtney Simon, and also by actress Nicolette Goulet.
Kathy was a lawyer and private investigator in the community of Henderson. She was first seen as a liberated woman lawyer. She was involved and was married to fellow attorney, Scott Phillips (played by Courtney Sherman's real life husband, Peter Simon). They split up for a time, whilst Scott was married to Jennifer Pace. The two would find themselves back together on more than one occasion; coming apart and going back together.
At one point, she was married to a controlling man named Garth Taper, but she would eventually come back to Scott. They shared a son named Doug Phillips (named after Scott's late father, Doug Martin).
