Kasidakari is the Punjabi and Hindi name for needlework. It is also known as Kashidakari (Persian). This art is practiced in many regions in India like Punjab, Kashmir, Bihar and Karnataka. In Karnataka, it is referred to as 'kasuti'. Generally, kasidakari is passed as an art form from mother to her child. In current context, it refers to thread-work embroidery or embellishment on fabric.
