Karl Wilhelm Walter Muller (2 September 1916 in Essen-Borbeck – 19 May 1989 in Celle) was a German naval officer and a Schnellboot commander and recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross (German: Ritterkreuz des Eisernen Kreuzes)in World War II. The Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross was awarded to recognise extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership. Muller, as commander of Schnellboot S-52, together with S-65 are credited with the sinking of the British destroyer Eskdale on 14 April 1943. He was also held P.O.W then released in a P.O.W trade
