Kampung Pelawan, or Kampong Pahlawan, is a small village with 100 houses which is located in Perak, Malaysia. All the villagers are Chinese, and they mainly speak the 'Ho Poh' dialect. Farming, plantation and tractor (Back pusher & Backhoe) are the main jobs for Pelawanian.

The history for the word of 'Pelawan' is actually came from the Malay word 'Pahlawan', which means hero. During World War 2, most of the places were not well structure like houses, roads etc. Japan army and boom were everywhere, nobody can live in peace during that time.

At that time, a group of peoples had been formed to resist Japanese Army with the name of 'Hong Men' (Red door). Hong Men members had been running through secret training, more and more members joined over time. One day, the war happened between Japanese army and Hong Men hero. At the end, Japanese army lost this war and they left.

After the Japanese army surrendered in 1945, villages were formed everywhere in Malaysia. Since everyone knew the Hong Men member were the heroes at that place, the name 'Pahlawan' was given.
