Kalirone (or Kalirana, kaleraun,Kaliraun, Kalironi) is a surname that belongs to the Jat clan, and the Kalirone people are believed to have originated from the village of Mavi Kalan.Kalirone/Kaliraun Jatts are also found in many other villages in patiala district.The surnames Kali-Rauna,Kalironah, Kalirao belong to this clan only. The Kalirawna jats are also found in Haryana, UP,Delhi,Rajasthan in large number. In Punjab they have villages in Patiala,Roopnagar(Ropar), Gurdaspur.

History

People connected to this surname are very difficult to find but its footprints can be traced back to 19th century when people with this surname starting moving from an area of Ambala, Karnal, Kaithal which was part of Punjab that time people flowed to different places according to their needs and with the passage of time they kept molding as it suited them. It is said that two brothers with their families were first to settle near small town Samana and with the passing of time these two families turned into two huge villages. And all the Kalirone people in these to villages are said to be descendents of these two brothers. No other village with this surname is found well developed like these two all other villages with this surname are economically backward and socially unaware so no citation should be expected about other villages with this surname
