Kalagara Sai Lakshmana Rao known as K S Lakshmana Rao (born 11 July 1956) is an Ex Member of Legislative Council (MLC) of Andhra Pradesh.

Background and Family life

Mr Rao was born in Pothunuru, a village near Denduluru in the West Godavari District on 11 July 1956, the elder son of Swargeeya Kalagara Venkateswara Rao and Jaya Lakshmi.He earned a master's degree in Political Science from the Andhra University, Visakhapatnam, and worked as Lecturer at the Hindu College, Guntur, for nearly 25 years. In the year 2007, Mr Rao took voluntary retirement and contested the election for the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council representing Krishna-Guntur Teachers Constituency. He won the election after the second-preference votes were counted and entered the Council for the first time. He was re-elected in 2009 with over 76% of the first-preference votes.He is contesting again for the third time as incumbent in the AP Council Elections expected to be held in February–March, 2015
