The name of Ven. Kadahapola Thero has been added to the history of Sri Lanka as a brave leader who contributed immensely to the independence struggle. The 2 leaders of his struggle in 1848 were Gongalegoda Banda and Puran Appu. They were guided and advised by Ven. Kadahalapola Thero. He also provided the protection.He was died by firing assault by British in 1848 August 6 th.
