The Kabul to Kandahar Star, also known as the Roberts Star or Kandahar Bronze Star was awarded to those troops who participated in the 320 mile march from Kabul to Kandahar in Afghanistan between 9–31 August 1880, under the command of General Frederick Roberts.
Description
Medal is a bronze five-pointed star 62mm high and 48mm wide, suspended by the Imperial Crown.
Obverse: in the middle is the royal monogram VRI, surrounded by the text "Kabul to Kandahar 1880".
Reverse: plain back with the name of the recipient around the edge.
