Kabir Iyengar (born July 28, 1986) is an American YouTube personality, comedian, and writer who has received millions of views on his comedic videos. Unlike most digital entertainers, he has received a large proportion of his views through third party uploads on Facebook. While some of these uploads have received over 2 million views individually, this makes aggregation of total views difficult to assess with estimates ranging from 10 to 20 million total views. Additionally, he has garnered over a million views on YouTube and Worldstar respectively. Iyengar also has a wide online presence through other mediums, including a considerable Twitter following with over 80k followers.
Iyengar's most popular video features him proposing to his longtime girlfriend with a rap parody of Bobby Shmurda's "Hot Boy". The viral video quickly became an Internet sensation. In addition to being publicly cited by Epic Records / Sony Entertainment CEO, LA Reid, and Hip Hop Mogul, Russell Simmons, it was featured on MTV, Buzzfeed, The Source, Spin, XXL Magazine, VIBE, Music Times, NDTV, Times of India, India Times, and a handful of other popular blogs, magazines, and radio/news stations.
Iyengar initially gained widespread publicity for two rap parody videos celebrating the NBA team Oklahoma City Thunder. The videos were featured on Deadspin, Sports Illustrated, Complex magazine, and NBA.com.
Iyengar is a graduate of the University of Chicago with a degree in Economics. Upon graduation, he worked in finance for a number of years before pursuing an MBA at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. He currently resides in Chicago, Illinois
