KVIN (920 AM and 92.3 FM) is a radio station broadcasting an Oldies format. Licensed to Ceres, California, United States, it serves the Modesto, Stockton and Merced area. The station is currently owned by Threshold Communications and formerly featured programming provided from Jones Radio Network and was an affiliate of Dial Global's America's Best Music until December 2013. All programming is now local 24/7 and features oldies from the 1950s and 1960s, mixed with some of America's biggest Adult Standards. Saturday nights a big band show is featured, "Swing Thing" hosted by Fred Hall. KVIN and sister station KRVR are Modesto's only locally owned radio stations. KVIN is one of very few AM radio stations that increase power at night, expanding coverage toward Sacramento area and parts of San Francisco Bay Area. KVIN started as KLOC in 1963, by Country music artist Chester Smith.
