KROM is a Regional Mexican radio station in San Antonio, Texas, broadcasting at 92.9 FM. It is owned by Univision Radio. Its studios are located in Northwest San Antonio, and the transmitter site is in Elmendorf, Texas.

Prior to the current format, the station was a Rhythmic Contemporary Hit Radio station known as KITY, or Power 93 until 1990.

From 1990 to 1995, this station went through a number of format changes. It was English-language adult contemporary KSRR, "Star 93." Owned by Booth American's West Coast division, Genesis Broadcasting, all of Booth's Texas stations were divested when Booth merged with Broadcast Alchemy to form Secret Communications. Tichenor Media bought KSRR for $3.8 million and flipped formats from an English-language adult contemporary format to a Spanish adult contemporary format known as KSRR, Exitos en EspaƱol 92.9FM, then La Romantica FM 93 before it began "Estereo Latino." in 1995. The current KROM calls comes from its days as La Romantica.

History of 92.9 FM

1947-1972 Signed on as KITY-FM 92.9 as KITY 92.9 FM Stereo service would soon follow the station would have a MOR Format. FM stations that first broadcast were often this type of format.

1973 KITY "Countryradio KITY FM 93" playing Modern Country

1974-1979 KITY would have an AC format as "KITY, The Music FM Stereo 93".

1979-1986 KITY a.k.a. "92.9 KITY FM" as a Top 40/CHR/UC a.k.a. CHUrban music format.

1986-8/26/1990 KITY would have the same format but add the name "The New Power 93 FM".

8/26/1990-3/27/1993 Power 93 KITY would change calls to KSRR as "The New Star 93" and go back to an AC format.

3/27/1993-08/1993 KSRR would become "Exitos in Espanol KSRR FM 92.9" the station's new format would be Spanish Adult Contemporary

08/1993-06/1995 KSRR would change call letters to KROM and the format would shift toward Spanish love songs as "La Romantica FM 93"

06/1995-03/2016 KROM would make the flip to "Estereo Latino" with a Regional Mexican format.

03/2016-Today KROM would rebrand as "Que Buena 92.9".
