K30MF-D is an upcoming low-powered television station that is licensed to serve Jonesboro, Arkansas. Owned by DTV America Corporation, the station will broadcast a digital signal on UHF channel 30. The station's transmitter is located in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas.
History
The station’s construction permit was granted to DTV America by the Federal Communications Commission in September 2011.
In 2015, MyNetworkTV listed K30MF-D to become the MyNetworkTV affiliate for the Jonesboro area in the near future. Until K30MF-D signs on the air, the default MyNetworkTV affiliates are WLMT-DT2 of Memphis, Tennessee, and WDKA of Paducah, Kentucky. When K30MF-D signs on, not only it would become the market’s fourth commercial television station, but Jonesboro will offer all four major television networks, plus the MyNetworkTV programming service. In August 2015, KJNB-LD recently signed on to become Fox and CBS affiliates, with KJNE-LP serving as a translator of that station since August 2015.
Since DTV America owns the station, supplemental programming will be available outside of MyNetworkTV’s primetime programming, and especially during the weekends. The station will probably also become affiliated with Antenna TV for programming in all time slots outside of the MyNetworkTV programming schedule on weeknights. This will make the station the first one in the Jonesboro market to offer a digital multi-cast network. The Doctor Television Channel (DrTV) may also become available through at least a second digital signal. If the station does follow that plan, the station’s programming schedule will be virtually identical to those of DTV America’s other Antenna TV/MyNetworkTV dual affiliates like WCZU-LD in Bowling Green, Kentucky and KPJO-LP in Pittsburg, Kansas (which serves the Joplin, Missouri market). Atlantic Coast Conference football and basketball from the Raycom Sports-operated ACC Network may also become available on the station, depending on when the station signs on.
