Julius Edward Yankowsky (born August 8, 1938) is a former provincial level politician from Alberta, Canada. He served in the Legislative Assembly of Alberta from 1993 until he was defeated in 2004.

Political career

Yankowsky was first elected to the Alberta Legislature in the 1993 Alberta general election. He defeated incumbent New Democrat MLA Ed Ewasiuk to win the new electoral district of Edmonton Beverly-Belmont for the Liberals. A year into his first term in office Yankowsky crossed the floor to sit as a Progressive Conservative. He was re-elected to his second term in office in the 1997 Alberta general election. The election in 1997 was hotly contested as he won the new electoral district of Edmonton Beverly-Clareview. The election turned out to be a closely contested three way race and he also defeated three other minor candidates. Yankowsky was re-elected to his third term winning a comfortable plurality and defeating five other candidates. He was defeated in his bid for a fourth term in the 2004 Alberta general election by former NDP Leader Ray Martin.

On June 1, 2006 Yankowsky was appointed to the first board of directors of the Alberta Association of Former MLAs.
