Julius Friedlander (painter)

Julius Friedländer, a genre painter, was born at Copenhagen in 1810, and entered the Academy there in 1824, afterwards studying under Lund. In 1843-44 he visited Paris and Italy, whence he derived additional subjects for his art. Still later he took to depicting military and naval life. He died in 1861. Among his pictures are:

  • Polish Exiles.
  • A Doctor by a Sick Bed.
  • Rope-Dancers about to perform. (Copenhagen Gallery)
