Judith MacKenzie Bennett is an American historian and professor at the University of Southern California, where she holds the John R. Hubbard Chain in British History. Bennett writes and teaches about medieval Europe, specifically focusing on gender, women's history, and rural peasants.
Bennett is the co-author of a widely used medieval history text, Medieval Europe: A Short History (McGraw Hill). Additionally, she has written six other texts, including an in-depth biography of a female rural peasant, Cecilia Penifader of Brigstock.
