Juan Miller (1788-1843) was a Scottish landowner, he introduced the cattle breed Shorthorn in Argentina.

Biography

Juan Miller was born Elgin, in the north of Scotland, son of John Miller and Margaret Grenlan. He had arrived in 1809 to the Port of Buenos Aires. In 1812 Miller was married to María Dolores Balbastro, That year he had obtained the title of Argentine citizen, delivered by the governing.

In 1843 Juan Miller, died at his ranch "La Caledonia" located in the district of Cañuelas. In the estancia "La Caledonia" was signed the Pacto de Cañuelas, between General Juan Lavalle and Juan Manuel de Rosas.
