The Journal of Shi'a Islamic Studies (ISSN 1748-9423) was established in 2008 as an international peer-reviewed academic journal publishing articles relating to Shia Islam. It is published by ICAS Press for The Islamic College in London, an affiliated of the University of Al-Mustafa in Qum. It aims to provide a scholarly platform for critical and informed articles in all fields of Shi‘a studies, including theology, philosophy, mysticism, law, jurisprudence, politics, history, Qur'an and Hadith studies, and current issues relevant to Shi'ism. The journal also provides a platform for non-English experts and professionals to enhance the available literature in English concerning Shi'a studies, as the bulk of world literature on Shi'ism has been written in languages other than English - most notably, Arabic, Persian, and Urdu. Therefore, from time to time, translated articles are also published. The journal also contains a book reviews section to review new and old works pertaining to Shi'a Islam.

Abstracting and indexing

The Journal of Shi'a Islamic Studies is abstracted and indexed by Academic Search Complete, ATLA Religion Database, British Humanities Index, Humanities International Complete, Index Islamicus, MLA International Bibliography, Religious & Theological Abstracts, and The Philosopher’s Index.
