Career in business

He was born in Barcelona, Spain, 13 July 1966, raised within a business family. As the book Public Relations, Biographical Essay from Dr. Edward Bernays ISBN 84-404-7562-4, he started his professional career in the United States, in the cities of Boston, New York City and Washington, 1988, at the side of one of the most important Americans of the last century, as the Life magazine declared him in its number “The 100 most important American people of the last century”. Dr. Edward Bernays, the mentor of Barquero, was the pioneer worldwide of Public Relations, advisor of some Presidents of the United States of America and some international and national business, as mentioned in the book “Public Relations, The Edward Bernays and the American Scene: a bibliography” from Keith A. Larson, ISBN 978-0-87305-118-7. Barquero worked with Bernays in the creation and development of several public relations, propaganda and political marketing campaigns, at it is explained in the “Entrepreneurial Manual of Public Relations” Editorial Planeta-Gestion 2000 ISBN 84-8088-328-6. In 1991 Barquero starts to collaborate with British organizations and institutions at the side of Prof. Dr. Sam Black, pioneer in Europe of public relations and public relations expert. Barquero is an Academic of the Royal Academic of Economy and Financial Sciences of Spain and Academic of the Royal Academy of Doctors of Catalonia, Spain. He has performed in the scientific, research and faculty activities through the social, political and public relations sciences, as it can be confirmed through the ISBN data base of the Cultural Ministry of Spain, where all his research and publications can be consulted. He obtained his Ph.D at the [www.uic.es International University of Catalonia], with the research thesis: How to avoid the clash of cultures and civilizations - Multicultural Public Relations to obtain the alliance of civilizations, a thesis that was published by Spanish Editorial Libertarias ISBN 978-84-7954-591-8 and in English by Staffordshire University in the United Kingdom, ISBN 978-84-935828-6-9. Barquero also has several other degrees and academic honors: Executive MBA from the University of Barcelona, Expert in International Public Relations from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, bachelor's degree in Advertising and Public Relations and bachelor's degree in Business from the University of Barcelona.

Because of his career as a researcher, he has been considered one of the European pioneers in the area of social sciences in the scientific discipline of Corporate Public Relations, and he was the first to apply that discipline to Human Rights, Multiculturalism, Finance, Economics and Marketing.

Dr. Barquero became an Academic of the Royal Academy of Doctors RAD. The Solemn meeting chaired by the President of the Reial Acadèmia de Doctors, Hon. Dr. Josep Casajuana i Gibert, and its introducer, the Academician Hon. Dr. Alfredo Rocafort Nicolau. The inauguration was held on February 18, 2010 in La Lonja de Barcelona, Barcelona, Spain, according to sources. The inaugural speech was: "The Chinese economy: a new challenge for Europe."

He is Honour Member of the Harvard Business School Club in Barcelona, as stated by the European Superior Council of Doctors and Honoris Causa Doctors.

Career in social responsibility

He is the Vice President for the Juez Guzmán Human Rights Association, promoting from this platform social activities that benefits communities. This organization is directed by his Excellence, Judge Juan Guzmán Tapia.
