Joshekan was a small province of Iran covering about 1000 sq. miles. Its chief town and the residence of the governor used to be Joshekan-Kali, a large village with fine gardens, formerly famous for its carpets (kali), but was moved to Maimeh, a little city situated at an elevation of 6670 ft., about 63 miles north-west of Isfahan, and roughly equidistant from Gulpaigan and Natanz. Joshekan is now incorporated within Isfahan Province.
