Joseph W Poole (born 25 March 1909) was Precentor at two English Cathedrals in his lifetime: Canterbury Cathedral from 1937-49; and Coventry Cathedral from 1958-77.
Poole studied classics at Jesus College, Cambridge, and did ordination training at Westcott House.
Married to Esmé (Judith), he was the father of Damian, Giles, Gillian, Katharine and Quentin.
