Josef Hones (born March 6, 1954) is an Austrian ski mountaineer, former biathlete and mountain runner.

Hones participated in the 1976 Winter Olympics and finished 15th in the 4 × 7.5 kilometres relay event, together with Franz-Josef Weber, Alfred Eder and Klaus Farbmacher. In 1978 he won the Trofeo Mezzalama ski mountaineering competition in the civilian teams category, together with Rudolf Kapeller and Karl Sinzinger. He participates also in mountain running events, and won the Kainach mountain marathon in 1987, 1989, 1990 and 1993.
