José Brito del Pino (1797–1877) was an Uruguayan military, patriot who had participated in the war of independence. He was one of the members founders of the Partido Nacional Uruguayo.

Biography

José was born in Montevideo, son of José Pérez Brito and Josefa Del Pino, daughter of Joaquín del Pino and Ignacia Ramery. In 1830, Brito del Pino was married to María Farías Zubillaga, aunt of Isabelino Canaveris Farias.

Brito del Pino and his wife were parents of four sons, Eduardo Brito del Pino (attorney), Josefa, Federico Brito del Pino, husband Amanda Berro, daughter of Bernardo Berro, and Darío Brito del Pino, politician, member of the White Party.

In 1825, Brito del Pino participates in the Guerra del Brasil, serving as Adjutant in the Estado Mayor del Ejército. In 1836, being Colonel was appointed Senior officer of the Ministry of Government.
