Johnsons Landing is an unincorporated community, former post office and former steamboat landing on the east shore of Kootenay Lake in British Columbia, Canada. The community was founded by Swedish immigrant Algot Johnson (died 1963) when he built the area's first home in 1906. A landslide occurred on July 12, 2012, killing four people and destroying five houses. A report from the regional government in 2013 said the slide was caused by a late snow melt and heavy rain.
