John W. Thomas (March 31, 1846 – March 8, 1925) was a member of the Wisconsin State Assembly.

Biography

Thomas was born on March 31, 1846 in Wales. After moving to the United States, he settled in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin. During the American Civil War, Thomas served in the Union Army. He died in Chippewa Falls on March 8, 1925.

Political career

Thomas was a member of the Assembly from 1895 to 1902. Previously, he served as Treasurer of Chippewa County, Wisconsin from 1885 to 1886. He was a Republican. He was elected railroad commissioner in 1902. He was elected to the Wisconsin Senate in 1908 and served four years.
