John McDonald is a Canadian author and award-winning marketer, with two books published Loss of [Marketing] Faith and Tips for the best Trips. McDonald was recognized with Marketing Magazine's Ones-to-Watch, Top 30 under 30 Award, and built the 'World's Largest S'more,' designated and retired in 2003 by Guinness World Records. McDonald served as President of BuyOurHouse, Vice President of Ticketmaster's outdoor division, and currently owns The Jasm Company, an early stage venture capital and strategy firm. John previously served on the Board of Directors of the Canadian Public Relation Society, as Chair of Sponsorships and presently serves on the Board of Advisors for Tradavo, Inc.

In 2002, John initiated the world's first internet software installed on Music Artist CDs in a deal with EMI, enabling purchasers of select CDs to get access to free internet access, with their homepage pre-set with the artist's website. That same year, John developed "FunCash" an online allowance product, enabling parents to deposit funds into an online wallet account, which would enable them to make secure online purchases within approved and designated online stores.

McDonald was born in Georgetown, Ontario and has also lived in Lake Tahoe, NV, Santa Clara & San Jose, CA and Toronto, Canada. John's father (of the same name) has also authored two books: Halton Sketches and Halton Sketches Revisited. John's Mother served as co-owner of "Little Beacher's" a Canadian children's clothing company and his Step-Father served as an executive at numerous hi-tech firms in the U.S. and Canada.
