John Hastings (born July 5, 1964 in Newport News, Virginia), is an American rugby league footballer who formerly played for the Fairfax Eagles in the AMNRL. He is currently a scouting assistant for the San Francisco 49ers of the National Football League (NFL). He was previously a strength and conditioning coach for the NFL's Washington Redskins and San Diego Chargers. He earned his degree in psychology and physical therapy from Ohio University in 1987. Hastings originally joined the Redskins organization in 2002 as an assistant strength and conditioning coach.
