John Fitzwilliam, 2nd Earl Fitzwilliam (circa 1685 – 28 August 1728) was an English nobleman, politician, and peer.

Fitzwilliam was the son of William Fitzwilliam, 1st Earl Fitzwilliam and Anne Cremor. He served as the Member of Parliament for Peterborough between 1710 and his early death in 1728. In 1719 he succeeded to his father's titles.

On 17 September 1718 he married Anne Stringer, and together they had four children. He was succeeded in his titles by his eldest son, William Fitzwilliam.
