John F. White, Jr. (born March 25, 1949) is a former Democratic member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives. He later served as a member of the Philadelphia City Council representing the Ninth District. He was elected to the seat after incumbent Democratic Councilman Louis Johanson resigned after being sentenced to prison for his connection with the Abscam scandal.

On January 20, 1987 he resigned his City Council seat to accept a position as acting secretary of a new state Department of Human Resources.

He headed the Department of Public Welfare under Pennsylvania Governor Robert Casey. He also served as Director of the Philadelphia Public Housing Authority (PHA). He currently heads The Consortium, an organization working with behavioral health issues.
