John David Cameron is an entrepreneur, producer, military adviser, writer and artist.
Career
The younger brother of filmmaker James Cameron, John served with distinction in the USMC and received an honourable discharge after six years with the rank of sergeant.
James Cameron said he was inspired to include Marines in his movie because of his brother’s own service in the Marine Corps. John David Cameron joined the Corps in 1985, fought in Operation Desert Storm and most recently worked as a consultant on “Avatar."
In 1998 John and James Cameron formed a digital media company, earthship.tv, which became Earthship Productions. The company produced live multimedia documentaries from the depths of the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. Projects included Last Mysteries of Titanic, Aliens of The Deep, and Ghosts of The Abyss. In 2001 earthship.tv produced the first dual high definition broadcast over the Internet.
In 2011 John became the CEO of electronic cigarette company SafeCig. More recently John became the CEO of the Human Health Organization, and is heavily focused on innovation in consumer safety and cigarette succession. Both companies have a focus that is in line with his activism efforts against traditional tobacco cigarettes.
