Johannes von Salmuth (born February 23, 1966 in Heidelberg) is a German family entrepreneur and Chairman of the Supervisory Bodies of the Röchling Group as well as Chairman of the Shareholders’ Committee at Aluminium-Werke Wutöschingen SE & Co. and Richter Aluminium GmbH.
Personal life and business career
Johannes von Salmuth was born in Heidelberg, the youngest son of four children, to Kurt Wigand Freiherr von Salmuth and his wife Ingrid née von Mengersen. He is married and has four children. After obtaining his degree in macroeconomics (Dipl. Volkswirt) at the University of Bonn in 1993, von Salmuth worked in Berlin for an auditing company and as a management consultant until 2002. He has been a member of the Shareholders’ Committee and Advisory Board of the Röchling Group since 2002, where he was appointed Chairman in 2008 and 2011 respectively. He has also been a member of the Executive Board at Aluminium-Werke Wutöschingen since 2002. Freiherr von Salmuth has been on the Board of Directors of "Die Familienunternehmer" (The Family Entrepreneurs) since 2009, and became Vice President in 2011.
