Johan Christian Ackermann (1740–1795) was a Swedish landscape gardener who was inspired by English landscape gardens.
Johan Christian Ackermann was originally from Sachsen and came to Sweden when he was 22 years old. At first he became employed at the garden in Ekolsund. After a dispute with the employer he decided to open his own market garden. Ackermann became later the director of the royal gardens at Karlberg Palace. In the year 1785 he took over the leadership of the continued construction of Haga Park from his predecessor Fredrik Magnus Piper. During the years 1787-1790 Ackermann worked with channels, islets and up to the year 1800, about 26,000 trees were planted which were cultivated at the two garden centers of the Haga Park.
Ackermann was also employed by Samuel af Ugglas to shape the English park at Forsmark.
