Joe Cootes


Joseph "Joe" George Cootes (born 1912/1913) was a New Zealand professional rugby league footballer of the 1930s, playing at representative level for New Zealand (#243), and Wellington, as a Prop, or Second-row, i.e. number 8 or 10, or, 11 or 12, during the era of contested scrums.

International honours

Cootes represented New Zealand in 1936 against Great Britain (2 tests), in 1937 against Australia (2 tests), and on tours of Australia (in 1938) and Great Britain (in 1939).
