Jhoti chita

Jhoti Chita is a traditional odia white art majorly shown in rural areas of Odisha. It is made from rice paste and with a piece of cloth surrounded with a stick is used to create beautiful jhotis. People also use their bare fingers to make jhotis too. Jhotis can be created over the wall and on the floor too.

Usually Jhoti Chita is created in various festivals like marriage, Manabasa Gurubara and Raja (festival).

Now people are being creative and have taken the old traditional art to a new level. Now jhoti chita are being used to make saree prints.
