There are many Jewish cemeteries in London; some are included in the List of cemeteries in London and this overview. Two cemeteries on London's outskirts have a majority of former London Jewish residents and are listed here. The 'Magnificent Seven private cemeteries' (opened between 1832–1841) were opened primarily to relieve Central London's Anglican churchyards, many with later plots for other faiths such as at Highgate Cemetery where a number of international Jews of similar fame to some of those in the cemeteries below are buried. Brookwood Cemetery, Surrey opened in 1852 designated approximately half of the original cemetery to non-Anglicans.
