Jesse Thomas is a singer-songwriter from Kentucky. She moved to Los Angeles in 2008 and immediately took the stage at a series of local open mic nights. Her soulful sound and original songs caught the attention of producer Jim Roach, and led to him signing her to Red Parade Music Group. Thomas worked with Roach on her debut full-length, War Dancer, and is now in the process of creating her next album.

Biography

Jesse Thomas is originally from Kentucky, and currently based in Los Angeles. Over the last two years, Jesse has developed a dedicated fanbase around the country, and around the world through her YouTube channel, TV placements, SXSW appearances on the Hotel Cafe stage, her iTunes “free single download” with over 120K downloads, and her week-long stint as Starbucks “Pick of the Week” artist with free download cards in all U.S. and Canadian locations. She released her first full-length album, entitled War Dancer, on Valentine’s Day (February 14) 2012, which peaked at number four on iTunes Singer/Songwriter charts and charted on Billboard at No.25 on “Heatseekers” and No.16 on the folk charts.

History

Her debut Hazel EP in September 2010 premiered in the top 10 on iTunes singer/songwriter chart. The release was highlighted as “New and Noteworthy” and “Indie Spotlight”. In February 2011, “You I Want” was featured as “Pick of the Week” in Starbucks stores throughout the United States and Canada. “Stay” was placed on the TV show Degrassi, on Teen Nick, becoming an instant YouTube sensation.

Jesse Thomas has opened for artists such as John Mayer, Cary Brothers, Crash Kings, Owl City, Lights, and Angel Taylor. She was also showcased at SXSW 2011.

The singer’s first full-length album War Dancer, named after a shop on the corner of Jesse Street & Victory Boulevard, was released on Valentine’s Day 2012.

On May 13, 2014 Jesse Thomas released her second full-length album Burn the Boats.
