Jerzy ([ˈjɛʐɨ]) is the Polish version of the masculine given name George. The most common nickname for "Jerzy" is "Jurek" ([ˈjurɛk]). It is a diminutive form of very rare name Jur. Both Jerzy and Jur have the same Greek origin.
