Jayan Nandagopan is a classically trained trombonist and arranger, achieving a Bachelor of Music from an Australian Conservatorium. He has performed with artists including: Ray Charles, James Morrison, the "Ultimate Rock Symphony" tour with Roger Daltrey, Peter Frampton, Alice Cooper and Gary Brooker.

Jayan lived in New York City from 2008–2016. He now lives in Melbourne, Australia.

Before moving to New York in 2008, Jayan performed on cruise ships with performers including Micky Dolenz from The Monkees, Herb Reed and the Platters. It was on the ships that Jayan started arranging for different ensembles and in different styles. Since moving to New York City he has been commissioned to write arrangements for ensembles including Chamberlain Brass, Juilliard Music Advancement Program, Minneapolis Pops Orchestra, Music St. Croix Chamber Orchestra and has had arrangements performed by Chestnut Brass in South Korea and the USA.

Jayan has written more than 100 brass quintet arrangements for the Chamberlain Brass Series, which focuses on simple, accessible classical and jazz arrangements for weddings and cocktail hours.
