Jawahar Point or Jawahar Sthal is a place or a spot on the Moon. It was named to remember the place where India's first Lunar Mission and its probe Chandrayaan-1 had crashed, as it was designed to do.The Moon Impact Probe (MIP) crash-landed on the lunar surface on 14 November 2008 near the Shackleton crater. The spot now renamed as the Jawahar Point as this feat was completed on the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru.
