The Javan slit-faced bat (Nycteris javanica) is a species of slit-faced bats found on the Kangean Islands of Indonesia and Nusa Penida, Java. This species is also located in West Timor. This species' population is decreasing.

Habitat and ecology

This species has been recorded as in roosting caves, coconut plantations, hollow bases of trees, and culverts, and lives in small groups. The major threat to this bat is agriculture. This animal is protected in Gunung Pangrano.
