Jason Trost is an American entrepreneur based in London. He co-founded Smarkets, the UK-headquartered event trading platform, in 2008.
He is regularly cited in the mainstream press for his expertise in the online betting field and around gambling regulation. Trost has also been cited for his knowledge of prediction markets , providing analysis around the US 2016 presidential election, among others.
In November 2016, Trost was named Innovation Entrepreneur of the Year in the Great British Entrepreneur Awards.
Personal life
Trost is a graduate of Computer Science from Northwestern University and previously worked as a financial trader at Great Point Capital in Chicago, Illinois. He was married on 27 February 2016 to Astrid Hugentobler.
